Internal Combustion Engines And Alternative Fuels

Internal combustion engines combine air and gasoline vapors in order to perform their functions. When this happens, the crankshaft is pushed to rotate a chain of differential gears. This drives the wheels for propulsion.

Majority of cars and vehicles normally use gasoline as a primary source of fuel for their internal combustion engines. An interesting fact in here is that any chemical catalyst can be used in such kind of engines. This is due to the fact that the primary fuel for an internal combustion engine is air, and it is flexible enough to combine with any form of fuel. Using alternative fuels for the engines can be a good move provided that the fuel to be used has a similar flash point as the air.

According to an online information Web site, a good alternative fuel should be abundant, affordable, and more efficient than gasoline. Some of the alternative fuels that can be used for internal combustion engines include natural gas, propane, hydrogen, and alcohol.

The four alternative fuels mentioned burn well with the air inside an internal combustion engine. Each type of fuel has its own capabilities and limitations. Propane and natural gas are regarded as good alternatives because aside from the fact that they are effective fuels, they are also abundant and readily available.

The same Web page cites restrictions of using hydrogen and alcohol. Hydrogen can easily be obtained through electrolysis, but storing it in the car would be dangerous. Using alcohol is also good, and it is also abundant. However, it should be mixed with another substance to reach a lower flash point.

does ron paul still have a chance at becoming the next president even though he's behind in the polls?
hi, i was wondering if ron paul still has a chance at becoming the next president even though he is behind in the polls? i think he is the best candidate an realize the importance on ending the meaningless and outrageously expensive war on drugs and legalizing hemp which has no psychoactive compounds or mind altering effects but what it does have is the potential to become a trillion dollar crop because of its multiple uses including alternative fuel, currency(we could print money with it), clothing, i mean the list goes on and on literally only reason it became illegal in 1937 was because it was too similar to marijuana lmao these old uneducated people we got in congress are too funny and he believes in legalizing marijuana which too would create massive amounts of revenue for each state and federal government by taxing it and create thousands of jobs if not millions!

Do any of you Liberals out there actually realize what Obama is saying here?
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/03/17/obama-seeks-halt-to-tax-subsidies-for-oil-industry/#content http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/in-land-of-lincoln-4-days-before-primary-obama-points-to-moderation-of-gops-first-president/2012/03/16/gIQAmlQaHS_story.html http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/obama-seeks-halt-tax-subsidies-oil-industry-15943549#.T2R2vnkx2ok I seriously doubt you do because you liberals seem to have difficulty thinking objectively. I'll quote, "President Barack Obama is calling anew on Congress to end tax subsidies for the oil and gas industry, saying the nation needs to develop alternative sources of energy in the face of rising gasoline prices." "'They can either place their bets on a fossil fuel from the last century or they can place their bets on America's future,' Obama said." Obama's essentially saying that he wants our fuel prices to skyrocket because he thinks it will force us to use alternative fuels. I just hope you Liberals realize this. Every cent our gas prices rise, Obama has already said that this is what he wants to happen to force us to use alternative fuels. If you think that Obama is saying something else, then that's rather naive and also blind. I'm not even talking about his opinion on tax subsidies because that's a typical leftist opinion, I'm talking about what he's saying, his overall message here, which is that he thinks the rise in fuel prices will force us to use alternative fuels. Obama wants our gas prices to rise, and he's buttering up his words by implying that those who support oil companies aren't supporting America when in reality, with this particular issue at this particular time, the opposite is actually true. Do you disagree? Feel free to disagree . . . or agree, I really don't care, I just want to see how many of you actually realize what Obama is actually saying here.
